As 2024 comes to an end and we are enjoying the festive season, it is the perfect time to reflect on an extraordinary year for Co.As.It. This year has been one of growth and connection, and our team at Co.As.It. have enjoyed bringing together our community in so many diverse ways!
During 2024, Co.As.It. continued our dedication to preserving and promoting the Italian culture and heritage in Sydney, through our language classes, cultural events involving food, art and music and annual celebrations. Some special highlights from 2024 included hosting international musicians at the cultural centre, cultural exchanges for our students at IBS, collaborating with the Italian film festival and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visiting at Norton Street Festa. Our ongoing commitment to the community was reflected in our work as a leading home care package provider in 2024, supporting our clients clinically, culturally, and linguistically, and helping them to live independently at home for longer. This year we continued to grow and expand our home care services, which range from basic domestic assistance to caring for complex clinical needs such as dementia and disability. Further, our buses travelled around Sydney, picking up and dropping off our clients at social support groups, where they enjoyed outings and socialising with new friends.
The success of our mental health outreach programs was another significant achievement for Co.As.It. in 2024. We collaborated with headspace to raise awareness of important mental health issues affecting youth in our community and ran events for Mental Health Month, with our team of counsellors continuing to advocate for better mental health in our community.
As we look forward to 2025, we at Co.As.It. remain committed to our mission of lifelong learning and support. We also thank our wonderful team of staff, care workers, volunteers, teachers, educators, and supporters, who made the achievements of 2024 possible.
