Government-Funded

Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

 

  • Subsided by the government
  • For seniors needing 1 or 2 entry-level care services
  • Offers basic support if you have low-level needs
  • Smaller range of services available
  • Eligibility is determined through a RAS assessment, which is arranged through My Aged Care
  • Services are limited to those approved through the initial assessment
  • You pay a co-contribution towards the cost of your services
  • The ability to use services for short or medium term or while waiting for HCP funding to become available.

Government-Funded

Home Care Packages (HCP)

 

  • Subsided by the government
  • For seniors needing greater support and who have complex care needs
  • Offers long-term comprehensive support, with packages ranging from $8,800 to $51,100 per year depending on your needs (Level 1 – Level 4)
  • Full range of service available
  • Eligibility is determined through an ACAT assessment, which is arranged through My Aged Care
  • Funding can be used for a broad range of home care services, based on your needs
  • You pay a co-contribution towards the cost of your services
  • Reassurance. Once you have a package, it stays in place for the long term.

Private

Private home care services

 

  • Non-subsidised (full cost)
  • For seniors needing entry-level or complex care services
  • Offers both basic support and comprehensive support for all levels of need
  • Full range of services available
  • No government assessment required
  • You choose the services most important to you
  • Pay as you go for the services you need
  • A great solution whilst waiting for government funding or if you don’t qualify for funding support.
